The Beginning, 1987 – Fresh, innovative ideas that leap off the shelves
Since 1987, Twinklers has been designing and manufacturing its own highly creative own-branded lines ranging from stationery to fashion accessories to lollipops and toys. Major retailers worldwide know that kids love Twinklers products because they are fun, imaginative, and different than the rest. Retailers know Twinklers products sell. They not only leap off the drawing board with fresh, innovative ideas, but also leap off the shelves!
2004 and Beyond - Acquiring both the Disney and Nickelodeon licenses in one year
We embarked upon a mutually successful and exciting relationship with both the Walt Disney Company and MTV Network in 2004. Twinklers became the stationery global licensee for all of Disney’s properties, including its new films and all the classics. In teaming up with MTV Network, we also became the Germany, Austria, and Switzerland licensee for a line of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants flashing products.
Greatest success was born - the Disney Jiggly Light-up Pen
2004 was the year that Twinklers’ greatest success was born, the Disney Jiggly Light-up Pen. Taking the world by storm, the novelty pen features a spring-top character from the Mickey Mouse and the Pooh properties and has fluffy marabou feathers in bright colours. The pen both “jiggles” and lights up when one writes with it. Global interest for this product has grown, and in 2006, we launched ranges from some of the world’s best-selling Disney films, including Cars, The Incredibles, Lilo & Stitch, The Cuties, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Jiggly Light-up Pen take up by major licensees around the world
Twinklers Jiggly Light-up Pens continue to be a great seller today as when they were first introduced. In collaborating with many licensees in Europe and the US, Twinklers has made this product available in exclusive Dora the Explorer, Funky Friends, and Hello Kitty lines for our customers. Twinklers’s own-branded lines likewise were put into the spotlight, with the increased awareness Twinklers attained through collaborating with the Walt Disney Company.
More licenses, more fun!
We enjoyed two very strong years since 2004. In late 2005, Twinklers acquired more licenses for new categories and territories from both the Walt Disney Company and MTV Network. This was the year Twinklers' ranges of Disney Fashion Accessories and the new hit, Disney light-up lollipop, came onto the market. The former product was licensed to us for distribution in our major markets, which are Europe, the US, and Asia Pacific. The latter was licensed to us worldwide. In addition, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants lines became available under our new licenses in over 17 countries worldwide.
2006 - Taking the world by storm - Disney Stationery Line and Disney Light-up Lollipops
In 2006, we experienced many successes. The expanded Disney Stationery Line and Light-up Lollipops became a world sensation, after being sought for and snapped up by some of Europe’s and the US’s largest supermarkets and mass market retailers, as well as distributors and importers. Our new Liquid Light-up Pens and Floppy Pen were instant hits in the hardline product category of the major stores. The Light-up Lollipops, which come in Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh designs, became the hottest products in both the novelty and confectionery categories.
Today - Twinklers today and its three-way approach
Today, Twinklers has placed new focus on structuring its business using a three-way approach to success:
• Strengthening upon our Disney, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Twinklers brands in all categories
• Keeping up with new trends and innovative products
• Forging licensing agreements with some of the kids’ most popular global brands, such as Disney and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Looking into the future, Twinklers will continue to place its attention on expanding its Disney, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Twinklers brands by developing new, innovative products with creative features, sold in imaginative, attention-getting packaging. Twinklers will also build on its strong heritage of understanding the needs of customers, factors that drive the market, and by knowing what kids love. Twinklers will endeavour to lead the novelty and impulse-buy market by staying one step ahead of the trends, by delivering topnotch customer service, and by keeping its manufacturing and safety practices to the highest standards in the world.
